Green Grass (from Last Year)

Still not green here yet, but looking at some photos from last year, I realized that even the sight of green grass cheered me up. So, here's a bit to share for all you winter starved people. Alternately, you can look at the dogs if you don't like grass. I try to include something for everyone.

How is Oliver? does he miss his "friends"?

You did a post about neutering goats? Can you provide a link?

I like goats, and goat meat. As a kid I would hike into the hills and spend time with an old Greek goat rancher. I wonder, does anyone eat camels?

Oliver comes home today. He misses the pack (and Cody) more than he misses his nuts. Since I want Ollie to get as big as possible, I went ahead with an early neuter. The other reason was I didn't want any agression problems when the teenage years hit.

BBC-people eat camels all the time. I never wrote about neutering goats-I was telling my father about it. It took about 3 hours of running to catch the goats (2) and about 10 seconds to band them. This was further complicated by a friendly "pet" bull who wanted to chase the goats and play along with everyone else. But, eventually, it was the bull who corned the goats so I could make the grab. BBQ goat is still one of my favorite meats.

Growing up in a agricultural setting, I have no real issue designating some animals as pets and others as dinner. I've had "feeder mice" that I've called pets-wouldn't feed them to anything for any reason, but their bretheren were served up without remorse.

I was looking at my grass yesterday and realized it's starting to turn green again. So nice.
