All I have here is Aloe Vera plants. I've had the mother plant for many years and re-pot the offspring and give them away.

I'm poor, send me a cactus and beer care package. :-)

(above is just a copy/paste of comment I left at Forever Young, see how lazy I am.) :-)

I don't think I've ever seen the cactus in the second photo. Interesting form. Thanks for posting these.

BBC-little baby aloe vera plants are cuties. Anyone who has had the same plant for many years and gives the offspring away is probably not poor, at least in spirit.

Alan, the second one is a urchin. It looked like the polar opposite to the cactus-and both are some old favorites of mine. Although, technically speaking, only in form, because an urchin is an animal and a cactus is a plant. I was cropping the cactus and the urchin picture popped into my head, along with the refrain from that song....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh.

That song brings back a lot of memories for me! That's a crazy looking cactus...love it. And the urchin is a great analogy relating to the sea. Great post!

The two look related but in opposite environments!
