My Eye's are Leaking!!!!

Remember that scene from the Grinch (Jim Carey version) where the Grinch grows a heart and begins to cry? I love that scene, so well done and so real.

I keep a roll of TP by the computer right now, because, try as a I might, my eyes leak a lot these days. Some days sitting down to sitting down to split open another blood vein-it feels pretty much the same. Well, metaphorically speaking, I've never split a vein on purpose.

But I was sitting here bawling because Human Being wrote such a lovely poem and the thought crossed my mind "where do all these tears come from anyway?" Then an even bigger thought crossed my mind-what happens to the ones who go unshed?

Even when work was a passion of mine, I was not a crier at the office-I pretty much despised it as a manipulative ploy, and in business I still do. But in life's dealings, if I didn't cry, and cry hard, I think I might explode.

So, where do unshed tears go?

Debra Kay. It is wonderful that you can cry (I actually can't). It is part of being human, to cry. I read human being's poem too. So filled with understanding. Have a light filled, chocolate altoid filled Sunday. Blessings, Suki

Debra,
Mine are leaking, too!
How I wish I could hug you, dearest friend...
Tears come from a deep well called love...
You are full of love and care, Debra.
I learn something and experience a unique feeling each time I come here...
And about the unshed tears... think some of them are transformed into art...
Louise Hay (Heal Your body) says they cause a cold with running eyes and nose...
:)
Love to you ...

I agree with Louise Hay-I look and feel far worse if I hold back rather than just go to a quiet spot and get it out.

Suki, it has taken a lot of years for me to learn to really cry again. It seems like we unlearn it a little too well when we are younger. If you haven't cried in awhile, it's best to be alone and have some time when you try, because once you really get going it's hard to stop.

Maybe that's what we fear-if we start we won't stop. But I am here to tell you that simply isn't true, you will stop and you will have rid yourself of something that needs to be gotten rid of (what an awkward sentence). Somewhere along the way the tears themselves got blamed for the cause of the tears-crying is not a bad thing at all. There's just a place and time for it-much like farting...LOL.

I cry all the time - in anger, hurt, sadness. I used to see it as a weakness, but now think of it as a highlighter pen that points out what is really important to me, that's all. I read an interesting article that the biochemical make-up of our tears actually change depending on the emotion that generates the tears. And unshed tears ... who knows where they go? But I think they contribute to the abyss that separates us from our real selves ... The comments in the above posting are interesting too ... shockingly, BBC hit the nail on the head for me. That's where my blog name comes from .... a reminder to myself to Honor what I think, what I feel, and everything else that goes along with it. I really enjoyed your poem ... here's to tall grass and a full heart for you ...
