The Pare-Wolf

Oliver heard the documentary "A man among wolves" and fell in love with the sounds of the wolf howl. So now I have the sounds of wolves and cubs most of the day. Honestly, he never howled or made puppy noises (only barked) before the show.

I know he had dogs in his life before, so I wonder if there weren't puppies involved, because he really really loves the wolf sounds.

He has not forsaken the farts however, only now he laughs, then howls, THEN farts. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm going to try and record some of his funnier moments-because I wish you all had a playback of it that you could play whenever you get stressed or grumpy. It's truly better than drugs.

Oh please do post them.

My dog Parker used to listen intently at recording of wolf howls. Then we took him camping out west and he shivered in the tent while the wolfs/coyotes were howling.

The first time they aired that show Oliver the dog was a sick puppy-so I started howling to let him know I was around but couldn't hold him right then. All my chi's except Bitty howl a little some howl a lot.

If a neighbor gets a new puppy and leaves it outside-they will all howl to comfort it-especially Greta.

Lily's howl is a demented thing but she's deaf.

Most of our howling is done in the house-but sometimes I wonder what the neighbor's think. I don't really care. I can quiet a nervous dog with one howl far easier than I can with a "quiet" or "it's ok"...they GET the howl instantly, I'm here, it's ok.

Oliver the parrot seems to howl sometimes for the same reason-just checking in.
