My friend doesn't understand why I feel guilty if I have a non-productive day, and God help me if I take an actual NAP!! It's because of my father. He thought anyone worthless if they couldn't account for having done a million things each day. The first thing he'd say to my mother when he got home from work was "What the %&*# did you do all day?" And then he'd smack her.
I'm getting better about letting myself have sluggish, unproductive lazy days because I think my body is begging for it! I've just decided to start listening to it and honoring it :)

even a butterfly cacoons first.

my heartfelt advice to you, debra kay, who does so much already to support and help the people you love:

do what you do and don't do what you don't do.

Hmmmm, a slug only has jellied and frilly underskirts to hide guilt under...

There is no underlying message there; stay sluggish and don't look for one ;)

I went and held Uncle John's hand. He was unable to talk very well but wanted someone there, so I just sat with him awhile. Mom can't sit still for long, so we had to leave, but I think I'll go back tomorrow and just sit some more. It's a good use of sluggish energy.

when moving on a road... if we look at the trees, they seem passing by quickly... if we look at the moon... it seems tacked down on the sky...
trees are near... moon's far...
