The Jackrabbits were taking a siesta under the orange trees. What can I say-Jackrabbits are way cool!

When I was a little girl I thought they were kangaroos.

Some swamp cottontails have made their way over to the fields and there are some hybrids every now and then. They have the ears of the jackrabbit and the round body of the cottontail, only a bit leaner and longer.

They don't seem to make it to adulthood very often, probably because they are slower moving than the jacks.

They look like what we call 'hares' because of the size of their ears!
