NightSongs

Human Being invited us to come up with a poem about the night. Here's mine.

NightSongs

Bird chirps softly as the sun goes to bed
Coyote's call joyfully welcomes the moon
There is no mourning here
Only music

I'm not a quilter, I just mend my clothes and such. But if you want to see what I sleep under every night.
MY QUILT

Ah, I like biking, I still use the trusty three speed I bought about 30 years ago. And I made a 35 speed three wheel recumbent that was cool.

No time to write a poem, don't think I can write a better one than the stand by the sea one anyway. I reckon that is about the best poem I've written.

Come, stand with me, by the sea.
Hold my hand and be as me.
Be one, as we.
Be we, as one.
Come, stand with me, by the sea.

Maybe guilt is the one emotion that will ultimately prove our undoing.

No, that would be greed. And anyone that doesn't think greed is an emotion is wrong.

Debra,
This is wonderful... the auditory images really made me hear all these beautiful songs of the night... and I read your poem over and over enjoying it more each time... it's very thought-provoking, too...
'no mourning here'.... mourning has got some sound but no harmony in it...
yes .. night is so beautiful ... all the things in it are harmonious ... no discord...

In addition,'mourning' brought something else to my mind: morning... no mourning... no morning... can it be a pun? wow! deeper layers of meaning...
I loved also sun going to bed... and birds chirping... singing a lullaby for the sun ... a mother figure...

Beauuuuutiful!
Thanks for writing... thanks for sharing such beauty you have in your soul with us.
I'm going to put the link to this poem in my blog...

you argue that;
night is not darkness, fear and sadness as most people might think ... it is all beauty...

and that dark part in us that we hide? it is the source of beauty,too.. isn't it?

yes the word 'mourning' does it for me, it represents everything, good and bad, happy and sad (sure there's a song with those words!grin).
