No Trails Needed

Riding across an open meadow
Is just as challenging as riding a trail
There are no hints from previous passers by
Each hummock may be a rock or a sinking bog
The speed that is your friend
Is only that which you generate
The aching muscles of the next day
Are only your own
No track left behind
No trace of your passing
Only a sore muscle or two
And a smile
