78 today, 30 tomorrow

So I stayed outside almost all day today. I had a nice riding lesson and just putzed and piddled all the way home. I bet that l sleep well tonight.

Bailey, the lesson horse, was in a ornery mood today. Part of it was because before I got him I stopped to look at a new mare and oooh'd and ahhhh'd and admired. Anyway, he kept me on my toes and we both got a kick (not literal) out of it. He got extra brushing and cuddles when we were done.

Love to ride and would take classes again but they are all dressage based around here and a bit fancy for me. I like to sit in the saddle and have a good canter. You've had quite the busy week haven't you? New horse, new birds and new pants. Happy New year!!!

KJ-I got busted for wearing a loose shirt to my lesson-from now on I have to tuck in...I never should have written that on your blog.

Lisa-I slept well and most of today too-I was worn out!

Mim, my trainer is a gem-she's seen better times financially, but has been around horses all her life and her animals come first...so her "facility" isn't fancy schmancy, but her knowledge is first class and the bloodlines of her stock are impeccable. I wouldn't fit in very well at the snooty places.

Soulbrush-you can get shorter horses! My preferred 'steed' for years was a large pony size-I'm not very tall so I could pull it off. Both Casper and Baily are 15.2-which seems huge to me, but they are really medium sized horses.

HB-I've missed hearing from you and I will always keep you in my thoughts when I ride-you will ride with me.
