This was a fun link. I have a friend that has a dog that does that sucking. UGH...Disgusting habit I must say. I hate to accidently step where the dog has been sucking. YUCK. Sweet dog though. I had never seen that habit before I met her dogs. I wonder what causes it.
I had a cat that did it-Pasht would suck my hair-and did from the time she was a kitten.
It might be similar with her dogs-they were border collies and bc's can be a little ocd.awssssssssssa Moon licks chrome or ice and drools. I tried drugging him (Prozac) but then I got it that it wasn't giving him anxiety, it was relieving his anxiety, so we discontinued the Prozac. Not every body has to like the same things.
For me-as long as I can call him and he stops and comes to me-he's not out of control. I keep chrome out of his area most of the time-when I want to give him a treat I fill a chrome bowl with ice and water-holy crap-he goes into ecstasy.
I will also leave big chunks of ice in the water trough and he will retrieve each one and pile it neatly to the side. He's my own little Felix Unger dog.
