Animal Wednesday

This is a duck that Dottie and I saw when we went camping a few years ago. The duck actually waddled up on land and Dottie chased him back into the water, to her great delight.

Either posting in advance or up early Debs. Wonderful duck. My dog always thought that ducks were put on this earth for his personal pleasure. He really did not want to catch one, but just chase them as they waddled and then panicked and flew away. He always looked after them with an expression of wonder as they flew.

I never minded duck chasing, chickens, with their spikey feet and beaks, were off limits.

(Remember, we are talking about a 3 pound dog here)

The current pack is obsessed with squirrels more than fowl. It is widely theorized that the brindles and merle coloration came from a little doxie in the gene pool, but I've had fawn dogs who loved to chase critters too.

You caught me-it was a pre post.

Gee, that duck has such interesting colors, no wonder your dog wanted to show he was the king!

HAW!

Ducks are great, but not so much for food, they are greasy, well maybe not all of them, I've never ate many ducks.

I just go feed them at times, but sometimes they are a problem when there are too many in one place, all that duck shit you know.

I'm going camping in the morning, you monkeys be good while I'm gone.

I've never seen a duck like that! really pretty colors and pattern. My husband orders duck from any restaurant that offers it on the menu. I'd rather see them in the water :)
