That was a December day and the entire canyon just went gold for a little bit as the clouds cleared and the sun started down.

(i need to thrive and become tenacious! or i need to become tenacious in order to thrive!) or i need to become a cactus in order to become tenacious and thrive, or i need to shut the fuck up!

I think we are all cactus in our own way. I mean, the great cactus's thrive and grow because they take so long to do it. Thriving may be no more than the act of surviving another day.....and after about 80 years of those days-behold, a giant and beautiful cactus.

More and more I've come to realize we are looking for that 90 second news flash moment in our lives-the one moment that says we've arrived. The truth is closer to the fact that we're already here, we just didn't realize it.

When I have a good moment I have to struggle not to mourn the ones I missed just by not looking. How I ever succeed in spite of my ruthless determination not to amazes me. Just the fact that we are all still here is pretty awesome.
