Whoop De Do Whoop De Do!

Isn't that what Jackie Gleason said?  Anyway-that worked as a new phrase for Oliver to replace some of the less savory things he was saying.  The bird kennel reported he said it and not the other things.

BUT-he also came back with a new phrase "HELP  HELP!" which he finds completely and utterly hilarious.  He'll get himself all worked up and yell "HELP HELP" in a long drawn out weedy voice-then laugh and laugh and laugh.   When he's really feeling clever, he'll mock slip on his perch and shout "WHOA!".  I really think he has some three stooges or old comedy shows in his history.

Last night I wanted to watch TV-remember we only have one.  He found Oprah and "Life" utterly boring.  There is something on Animal Planet tonight I want to see, so I'm going to give him a few hours of cartoons this afternoon so he doesn't feel all neglected.

I did work out the he meant to say SIT for that other thing he was saying-because he used in context with a click noise (I clicker train the dogs).  Be that as it may-he has a slight lisp and someone not familiar would think it was the OTHER word.  Whoop de do is a much nicer thing to yell out on a spring day.

hahaha, I love it! Whoop Dee Doo, Edith...Whoop Dee Doo! It was Carroll O'Conner as Archie Bunker!!

How funny! I had an African Grey Timneh for some years and she loved my husband...called me everything but 'white'! We had nextel radios and she could come up with that 'alert' that you use at the oddest of times and then just laugh her little butt off! I think she learned her foul language from her first family...she was swearing when I adopted her! ;)

Oliver sounds like a laugh a minute, I love the Stooges...maybe he's Curly reincarnated? ;)

Getting closer to that goal. I think it's going to work best for audio and not pictures. I can hide a recorder-but I can't figure out how to position a camera that he can't see (that could still see him). He has excellent hearing so if I just leave it out and casually click it on-he STILL hears it and clams up.

Even if I try to watch him, he shuts up-he does not like to be watched when he speaks. It's become a game of cat a mouse for us-capture the elusive parrot. He may well be smarter, but I have access to more technology!

I love hearing what he's been up to!

My sister's AG won't talk if you look at him either. Must be the Greys? Who knows!

Oliver is such a clever guy. I enjoy hearing about his escapades. I can just see him pretending to slip on the perch and yell whoa. Luna doesn't like to have her picture taken either. It is difficult to get her unless she is sleeping.
