Another Candle Gone

I received news today of another person lost.  I was going to add her name to Renee's candle, and instead the link broke.  Was someone trying to tell me to let it go?

Like Renee, Red was larger than life-a lot of woman wrapped up in a feisty package.  So much woman that  don't think any of us really believed she'd die-leukemia was just another thing for her to push past.  But, die she did, and a family member posted in her accounts to let her online family know.

Red was on her way too the hospital when Denise and I were on our way to Dallas.  We had intended to meet her for coffee-instead she went to Waco and never left.  It is highly likely we passed along I:35.  So  close, yet never to meet.  I was bringing her a pair of boots, they are still in my trunk.  So sad, one more thing left undone.

So sad.

Debra,
I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now that Renee has left us. I am so saddened that you have lost another friend....but I have to say that although you may not have physically met Red, you did know her and she valued your friendship and your love. I know that Renee did for me - and I for her.

You have left nothing undone....Red's time to leave happened...and she left you and her family full of love and strength and security in all that you gave her. Give those boots to somone else who will love them! Red will know.

Hugs and strength,

♥ Robin ♥

Thank you all. I spent the day with other friends who were just as much in shock and grief as I was and it helped. Grieving for me is usually a solitary thing-so this was just another gift from my friend-a new way of looking at things.

Isn't that what friends are for? To show us different facets of ourselves-what a gift.

Nothing was left undone, just interrupted...you will have her friendship with you always, just not Red's physical presence...and that grief is unavoidable.
