What we all need to learn

Is that the world goes on-really. Breakdown if you need to-it will be there when you get back. It might not even know you were gone. For someone like me, who feels sometimes the weight of the world rests on my shoulders-that is a comforting thought, not a depressing thought.

It is so surprising how the world does go on when we stop moving for awhile. I too often feel the weight of the world, and am always amazing that NOTHING stops when I do. I also find it comforting - and reassuring. I actually remember thinking - after 9/11 - that it was so strange that the sun kept rising and that birds flew and ducks quacked. I thought there should be a moment of absolute silence, and stillness. The organism that is our world did not even blink.

I look at other people going about their day when my world seems to be falling apart all around me. I want to go up to each of them and say "Don't you realize I'm hurting? WTF?"
Like John Lennon said, life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.
