No matter what you choose

The body eventually gives out, and with it the spirit.  I'm exhausted and I want everyone to leave so I can take a nap....and I'm sure there are millions of others in the US who feel the same way.

And, I refuse to feel guilty because "we only get to see each other once a year"....."some people don't have families".....because none of that makes my aching bones and jangled nerves feel any better.

It's like the old saying-don't go away mad, just go away.

OMG I so totally relate to this!!!

Good for you for not feeling guilty. You shouldn't.

Hope you're getting some rest and solitude.

Actually, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. It was nice, but it was just a marathon.

While it's fun to see everyone - it is way too hectic. I was exhausted on T day and glad to tumble into bed at 9:00 PM. And glad to come home a day early...

I love my solitude. Period. It's nice to see family, but it is nice to get back to doing my own thing too! I'm sure it is the same for them as well, right?

One blogger posed the question
What is the difference between a tradition and a rut?

I answered her that hopefully a tradition is something you still enjoy.
We have changed many traditions in our family over the years, but some just seem to have to continue anyway. Sadly.

Mim-I have a ticket to Sarasota waiting for me.....I had to cancel earlier this year. I'll probably go "off holiday" season-I like to have Jay and Sue and the kids all to myself.

I'd also like to make a journey east to your area one day-but not in the winter. My goal this year (and I've already bought the heavy coat and gloves) is to get used to the Oklahoma winters and over my dislike of cold.

We've got our spare bedroom waiting...

lots of times when i read your posts in my Google Reader, i become speechless... as if spellbound by your sincere and seemingly simple words... i sit back and stare at the monitor but don't see anything... a feeling wells up in my heart that's very strange... i just want to hug you... saying nothing.... just a long tight hug...

now that i'm here i feel compelled to confess...
:)
