HAW-HAW-HAW

Blogger refuses to upload a picture, so I am declaring the video post below my entry for Animal Wednesday because it's late and I have a headache from all the walls I've bashed into today already. Hmmmm, is throwing a HISSY FIT an animal wednesday kind of thing? If I could, I would just bray like a donkey right now-that's pretty much how I feel.....so HAW HAW HAW EEEE HAW

Sometimes we all need to have those hissy fit kind of days. Sometimes when I get like that I can't stand to be in the room with MYSELF!
Hey, did you see the 965 pound Burmese Python on Animal Planet last night? I thought "I hope Debra's watching this!!"

Your day will get better :) HAW anyway!!

I hope you are sitting down, with your feet up by now, relaxing and not running into any more walls! I know I am...I'm completely exhausted! Take care...and HAW!

Hissy fits are good for Animal Wednesday! Bravo! I think I shall have one tomorrow just because I haven't had one in a while.

I forgot to tell you that they fed the Burm 3-4 dogs per week. (or per month?)

That was TMI for me!

I hope they weren't put in there alive...ugh.

Oh, I saw that segment somewhere else-I think it was a retic though (the one I saw was). Remember, in that part of the world dog is a delicacy, so they probably were honoring the snake.

Most of the really huge ones are obese though-and I've often wondered if letting them get obese doesn't actually retard the length (which is what people are trying to get to-the world's longest snake).

I've seen a couple of burms who can barely move, and that is just terribly sad to me. I love footage of really big snakes moving well-very exciting to watch because those things are fast. I've seen some large captive snakes feed on rabbits that were bigger than most of my dogs-and the speed that they can strike at is incredible and something you just don't expect in such a large animal.

Oh my all this snake and dog talk. Poor Deb - I hope today was better than yesterday and yes...a good hissy fit is therapeutic - and totally allowed on AW! in fact....encouraged!

You're so right, a reticulated python!! Duh.
And I'm pretty sure they don't revere dogs there. They have so many to "spare" because they're all over the place. That is when they're not placing tin can muzzles on them and displaying them for meat at the local markets.
Just sayin.
Anywhooooo, don't want to rant. Just pointing out the differences in how some of us actually consider dogs members of our families :)

I guess having snakes has caused me to rethink some thinks-mice used to be cute pets, now they are dinner. Same with chickens (although I ate chicken before having snakes...)

I do consider my dogs, cat, bird, snakes all family-but I understand that not everyone does. That still does not in any way, excuse cruel treatment for any animal-animals are rarely cruel to each other, and I think there is a basic human understanding of what is cruel and what is not.

But, as a carnivore (sometimes myself) I can't really comment on one person's choice of meat over another. In the end, something has to die so that something lives.

I also don't "justify" the killing of the mice (like some snake keepers do) claiming they are "vermin"....I'm sure the people who have the dogs as food think of them as "expendable" too. I eat what I prefer to eat, but make no claim to being either superior myself or in my choices.

As you can see, as an animal lover AND a meat eater, I've given this a lot of thought. I hope I made some kind of sense....LOL.

I did try the vegan trip once-was nice, skinny and completely unhealthy (but I didn't put a lot of thought into balancing the diet either).
